I gave this course 4 stars because, while I believe prompt engineering is gradually becoming less central as an explicit discipline, it still provides valuable insights. As generative AI models become increasingly capable of understanding natural language intuitively, and as they are augmented with retrieval mechanisms and agentic capabilities—as the course itself acknowledges—the need for highly structured prompt engineering is likely to diminish over time. That said, the course helped me better reflect on how these models process instructions and how important it is to communicate clearly and intentionally when interacting with them. Prompt engineering remains a valuable soft skill, because at its core it is about effective communication. Just as with humans, the quality of the input strongly influences the quality of the output. I also realized that many of the techniques and best practices presented in the course were things I had already been applying intuitively through daily use of generative AI, especially in coding and practical workflows. For experienced users, the course may not significantly change their approach or provide groundbreaking practical improvements. However, from a theoretical and conceptual perspective, it is still useful. It provides a structured framework for understanding why certain prompting techniques work and helps formalize practices that many experienced users develop organically over time. Overall, while it may not be transformative for advanced users, it remains a valuable course for strengthening conceptual understanding and improving intentional interaction with generative AI systems.

I enjoyed this course especially due to its lab environment which allows students to really get their hands dirty on prompting techniques. There are two reasons why I don't give the course 5 stars: 1) In the more complex prompting exercises using several experts (Bob puts a ball into a cup...), the provided sample prompts utterly failed in the requested choice of LLM. In some of these, the course description would say something like "with this approach, the LLM success rate will almost always be 100%". Not the case. But rewriting prompts and using a different LLM versions ultimately lead to some success. The Image Generation Module never worked once. When trying to create an image, the module would always trigger an error message of the type "This image expired." I created a ticket for this but in the end practiced on our company-owned Gemini version instead. Nevertheless, a good course but might soon need some updates since technology is moving fast!

la verdad me parecio un curso increible bueno y util para mi vida cuando tenga que salir al mundo exterior y trabajar mas adelante, me imagino que si lanzara un emprendimiento podria hacer uso de las inteligencias artificiales, tambien creo que la IA a ayudado mucho a las personas ,mas que todo me encanto lo que aprendi y gracias a las personas que hiieron posible esta gran experiencia la verdad me gusto y fue entretenido aprender mas de la ibm watson ai y de las demas IA.

Un curso de IA Generativa: Conceptos básicos de ingeniería de instrucciones puede ser muy útil si estás interesado en comprender cómo funciona y cómo interactuar con modelos de IA generativa, como los de OpenAI, Google, y otros actores importantes en el campo. En términos generales, este tipo de curso te proporcionaría una introducción a las herramientas y técnicas necesarias para trabajar eficazmente con modelos de lenguaje y otras formas de IA generativa

Cours générique donnant une bonne vision et compréhension globale. Très bonne architecture et vulgarisation en anglais. Traduction en français déplorable et les questions du quizz final sont si fausses que l'on en comprend pas le sens. Application pratique utile et bien faite par contre le LAB ne fonctionne pas bien dans le cadre du cours et ne génère de résultats aux requêtes qu'une fois sur 8.

Este curso me permitió visualizar el nivel al que ha logrado llegar las IA, que en diferentes escenarios se pueden aplicar para facilitar enormemente las tareas que se quieran realizar. Desde ahora será una herramienta indispensable en cualquier labor que inicie. Gracias a Coursera senatic e IBM, por permitirnos acceder a este tipo de capacitaciones, que sin lugar a duda serán muy bien recibidos.

Excelente curso, pero seria formidable que se pudiera trabajar todo en el idioma de la persona quien esta realizando el curso, como en mi caso mi idioma es español, pero había muchos apartes en ingles y mientras utilizaba el traductor me restaba tiempo en resolver, lo que en realidad necesitaba concentrarme en lo que estaba aprendiendo y muchas veces perdía el hilo durante el trabajo.

Generative AI: Prompt Engineering Basics gives a clear start with simple concepts and small hands-on labs; it’s useful for students and AI enthusiasts. In my view, the instructor’s voice feels robotic and less engaging, and the visuals/charts could be more colorful and memorable. Suggest adding warmer voice-overs, regional languages, and quick recap visuals to make learning easier.

La ingeniería de instrucciones en IA generativa es clave para transformar simples comandos en interacciones inteligentes y útiles. Al diseñar indicaciones claras y estratégicas, los usuarios pueden guiar a los modelos hacia respuestas más precisas, creativas y adaptadas a sus necesidades. Es una habilidad que convierte la tecnología en una verdadera herramienta de colaboración.

El concepto del curso está bien. Los contenidos son buenos. Lo que le falla es que hay partes del curso que no están traducidas. En las prácticas utilicé otras herramientas para traducir el contenido. Hay videos que están en español y otros en ingles, también utilicé herramientas para la traducción. Todo esto conlleva que tardase más en terminar el curso.

En general las instrucciones para el desarrollo son comprensibles, pero muchos de los prompts no se traducen en la plataforma lo que influye de manera negativa en la comprension de los temas abordados, obligando al usuario a buscar la traduccion del prompt en otra pagina web, solo ese pequeño detalle.
